TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR AUTHOR PROGRAM

 

GROUP SESSIONS

  • The program runs for 10 consecutive months, starting July 16th 2019 and ending May 12th 2020.
  • The program consists of 10 group coaching sessions of 90 minutes and 10, live, web based presentations of 90 minutes. These will take place on alternate Tuesdays at 2pm EST throughout the program. 
  • In the live, web based presentations you will learn the essential components of writing a groundbreaking social impact book. You can ask questions throughout the presentation.
  • In the group coaching sessions you will be given the opportunity to ask further questions, overcome hurdles and blocks, and develop your writing skills.
  • You will require internet access to take part in the group coaching and live presentations.
  • There will be a dedicated Facebook group where you can ask your questions throughout the program.

 

SESSIONS

  • There are additional, one-on-one sessions accompanying this program.
  • If you are paying in 3 installments you will receive 1 x 1 hour + 1 x 30 minutes coaching sessions with Sasha Allenby. You can take these via Zoom, Skype, phone (if you are based in the US), or face-to-face in Sasha’s office in the Financial District, Manhattan.
  • If you are paying in one single payment you will receive a further 2 x 1 hour sessions with Sasha Allenby.
  • Sessions are booked in advance on weekdays between 10.30am and 4.30pm EST. They require 48 hours notice to cancel, or the session will be lost. The first 30 minute session takes place at the start of the program. The remaining session(s) can be booked during the program, and up to 3 months after the program ends. After this time, the sessions are not bookable, and will be considered completed.

 

PAYMENT

  • If you are paying in a single installment, the payment is due immediately upon booking.
  • If you are paying in three installments, the first payment is due immediately upon booking, the second payment will be charged 3 months after your first payment and the third payment will be charged 6 months after your first payment. By signing up for the program you agree to complete the two further payments.
  • All sales are final and no refunds will be given.

 

PARTICIPATION

  • This is a practical, hands-on program that is designed to support you to write your book.
  • You will be required to join the live presentations (or listen to the recordings), participate in the exercises and craft your book as the program progresses.
  • The program is only effective with your full participation.

 

FAIR CONTENT CLAUSE

  • Sasha Allenby and Equality Hive reserve the right to refrain from working with material that could potentially be harmful or damaging to the reader. This includes material that shows support of problematic groups and/or movements.
  • Sasha Allenby reserves the right to use her own discretion on whether material may fall into the category of being harmful or damaging to a reader, including—but not limited to—prejudice, racism, xenophobia, Islamophobia, sexism, homophobia, propaganda, dogma, etc., and to terminate the contract of any participant who is working on material of this nature.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

  • Sasha Allenby and Equality Hive dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. If workshop participants violate these rules we reserve the right to take further action, including, but not limited to, terminating the contract of any participant who engages in discriminatory behavior.
  • At Equality Hive we operate in an environment of mutual care and respect. By participating in this program you agree to adhere to these standards and to treat all staff and fellow participants with care and respect. Any participant demonstrating general abusive or confrontational behavior will be dismissed from the program.

The following behaviors are considered harassment and are unacceptable within our community:

  • Violence, threats of violence or violent language directed against another person.
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material.
  • Posting or threatening to post other people’s personally identifying information (“doxing”).
  • Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability.
  • Inappropriate photography or recording.
  • Inappropriate physical contact; you should have someone’s consent before touching them.
  • Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes, sexualized comments or jokes; inappropriate touching, groping, and unwelcome sexual advances.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following (online or in person).
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
  • Sustained disruption of events, including talks and presentations.
  • No weapons of any kind, alcohol, or drugs are allowed while attending our events. 
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of staff immediately so that we can take appropriate action.

 

DISCLAIMER

By working with Sasha Allenby on this project you understand that we cannot guarantee a publishing contract or a bestseller (or that you will complete your book). We are committed to supporting you to write the highest quality and most innovative book with the content you have. We will guide you if we feel that more high quality content is needed in order for the project to be a success. However, given that ​the success of a book is dependent on you creating a finished product, and employing a dynamic marketing strategy that exists outside of the actual contents of the book​, we cannot provide any guarantee of the number of copies you will sell if you complete your work and published it.
